Russian online educational resource Skillbox and Russian esports media outlet Cybersport.ru have joined forces to create a dedicated section on education within the esports and gaming industry. This will be aimed to promote the viability of esports as a career and also to help ambitious newcomers to the industry without them having to teach themselves. The section will have a range of content including information on thematic courses alongside tips and tricks to help players hone their skills.
ESforce Holding, parent company of Cybersport.ru, joined forces with Skillbox last year in November and this latest partnership is a result of that. The two parties created multiple online university courses on a variety of professions within the esports industry. Thanks to ESforce Holding’s involvement in the creation of the university courses, several professional players representing Russian organisation Virtus.pro were appointed as teaching staff across workshops teaching techniques in Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Nikolay Petrossian, ESforce Holding Media Director and Head of Cybersport.ru, spoke on the collaboration in a release: “Contrary to the stereotypes, esports requires serious training, and we are glad that we can continue to actively develop the educational part of the industry. Last year, in Skillbox online university we found a reliable partner to promote training and further employment in esports. This new joint section is a logical extension of cooperation with the holding.”
Denis Tatyankin, Head of Games Development at Skillbox, also spoke on the continuation of the partnership: “The ‘Education’ section on Сybersport.ru is an opportunity to make all our content more accessible to millions of people and employees in the gaming industry, from gamers to game designers.”
