Bengaluru-based Ncore Games announced FAU:G. Short for Fearless and United: Guards created quite the hype when it announced a launch date for Republic Day 2021, January 26th. The app was to be a home-made alternative to the globally popular battle-royale title, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG for short which was banned in India for multiple reasons last year. FAU:G is reportedly based on real incidents on the Galwan Valley, but PUBG Mobile’s setting is not based on anything except imagination. FAUG’s data centre will be in India since it is a Made in India product, but PUBG Mobile data centre is abroad.
However, a new video hinting at the relaunch of PUBG has been making its rounds on social media creating more hype for loyal fans of the game. The YouTuber Maxtern, a caster and eSport influencer’s tweet of “deadly news” is the source for the said PUBG Mobile relaunch date. The video claimed a teaser for the relaunch to appear by the 3rd week of January which is right before the announced launch date of FAU:G.
PUBG Mobile had made two big announcements in December 2020, that further aided in boosting hopes of PUBG India fans higher. Parent company Krafton Inc had also recently appointed Aneesh Aravind as new country manager for India. indicating that things were moving fast. Since then, Krafton Inc has got more people on board by inducting four more people to the team. Notably, these four people were part of Tencent, the company responsible for rights for PUBG Mobile’s Global version.
PUBG News So Far And The Current Status Of The Game
Many industry insiders along with quite a few rumours have been claiming that date on the game’s release would be given out shortly, however, it has not happened as of now. There are various reports claiming that relaunch is slated around March 2021. However, the Government has not issued a formal statement for the same.
While there are many reports about PUBG relaunching in India, they all seem to be faked. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has made it clear in its statement that no way the game is relaunching in nearby future. However, if the game somehow manages to miraculously launch in India, FAU:G will definitely be in quite a bit of trouble as PUBG already has a more than loyal fanbase who are anxiously waiting for the game’s return. Until then, FAU:G is safe and may be one of the better alternatives to all the PUBG players and fans.
