Battlegrounds Mobile India to Open Registrations from 18th May!

May 14, 2021

Krafton, the developers of the game, made the announcement earlier today!

The developers of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) – Krafton, today announced that the pre-registrations for the game will go live on Google Play Store from 18th May 2021. Battleground Mobile India will serve as the replacement for Player Unknown Battlegrounds (or PUBG) Mobile which was banned by the Indian Government last year.

The game, is expected to release on the 10th of June, according to official sources. However, pre-registrations will start much sooner, by the 18th of May. In a press statement, the company said it will have “specific rewards available for fans to claim, only if they pre-register the game.” These rewards would be specific to Indian players only.

In order to pre-register users will have to go to Google Play Store, and click on the “Pre-Register” button. The rewards will automatically be available to claim on game launch. The game will be free to play for all users with in-app purchases, as was previously seen in PUBG Mobile. However, there is yet to be some clarification made regarding the pre-registration process for iOS users on the App Store.

With their new game, KRAFTON is also trying to address the issues surrounding game addiction among younger audiences. In the new privacy policy for the game, it has been made clear that there will be certain restrictions for players under the age of 18 which includes a requirement of their parent’s or guardian’s phone number. Furthermore, there will be a cap on the total hours of gaming per day as well as money spent on the game by the players who are under 18 years of age.

While not much is known about the upcoming game and whether it will be really different from PUBG Mobile, Krafton posted a new teaser for the Sanhok map on the official Facebook page. The poster shows the Ban Tai map location from Sanhok, which is one of the 4×4 maps available in the game. The map was added to PUBG Mobile in September 2018. Based on the images shared so far, it looks like the game will be similar in design and spirit to original PUBG Mobile with some tweaks for India.
