F1 Esports Champion Brendon Leigh joins Mercedes Esports Team

Brendon Leigh beat 66,000 players to win the inaugural F1 Esports World Championship last year to join as part of Mercedes’ four-man esports team for 2018. The 19-year-old will compete alongside 2017 McLaren World’s Fastest Gamer finalist Harry Jacks, multiple-Polish sim racing champion Patryk Krutyi and Dani Bereznay, who was selected by the team in July’s Pro Draft.

They will be based in the same building as the ‘F1 Driver in Loop Simulator’, where F1 and development drivers provide feedback to engineers on a virtual model of the car. The quartet will start competing in October in the next stage of the F1 2018 eSports series.
